So we were on the water at last but after the six hour drive and arrival time of 6:30pm we just wanted to find our first place to set up camp and chill out for the evening. From Balmaha we headed off for Bucinch, this was my first open water crossing in a canoe and it was a little unnerving at first being buffetted about and the canoe was sitting considerably lower in the water than I was used to with two 6' oafs in it and a load of kit! We reached Bucinch and it looked as though the only decent place to camp had been taken. So we headed off in the direction of nearby Inchcruin, which had many signs around it saying no landing and a large private house. Feeling that we were running out of time we headed around the back of Inchcruin where it was dense forest and found a little spot to set up camp for our first night.
